We had CL retreat on Wednesday 6 Dec
Wheee.. will not share too much.. you'll definitely hear almost the same things that people will say.. "It was fun! I learnt alot! Great fellowship! etc etc.." Yep.. all those were true too~!
Shall blog down what i learnt from kite flying! (Thanks Dennis for bringing us to Marina to fly kites!) haaa.. 90% hav never tried kite flying before.. We were all excited about it.. ! n jus really jus whack n tried to fly our own kites..
For me.. Think it was really my first time trying out kite flying ON MY OWN! coool.. did experience alot n even learnt much from it!
1. (When it's your first time flying a kite) Know that IT'S POSSIBLE FOR THE KITE TO FLY HIGH! Just get the method right. And keep trying. When you know and see with your eyes that it's possible to reach goals, it's possible to solve certain problems, it's possible to love the unlovable, it's possible to get an A for Math... Yes it is also possible for You!!
2. The rise and fall of the kite depends on the kite flyer.
The rise and fall of the group depends largely on the leader. Leaders! Make that difference! (East B is gonna soar! 32 by end Jan!)
3. People can teach you how to fly a kite, but at the end of the day.. You've got to try and do it own ya own. Keep asking questions along the way whenever you can't do it or make mistakes.
We may receieve many teachings, advices and guidance from out shepherds, leaders and pastors... But they are not the ones who are responsible for your spiritual life or your group totally.. You are the one that needs to put what u learn into practice! You are the one who needs to go out there.. make mistakes n take chances! In leading your caregroups, in outreaching.. etc.. learn .. n "do it your way!"
4. It's an attitude thing! You need to have a positive attitude to make your kite fly eventually.
Similarly in ministry, or in other things that we do.. It really starts of with the heart attitude, followed and coupled with skills to bring much success!
Do NOT give up!
